Who the hell is Sarah Reid?
We’re a group of creatives who are serious about changing the world for the better. Introducing the people of DixonBaxi; get to know some of the brilliant minds behind our work as we dive into all things professional and personal. We hung out with Sarah, our talent and studio manager, and talked about what makes her tick. Here’s the full conversation:
Who are you and what do you do?
Hiya! I’m Sarah the talent and studio manager.
As studio manager, I’m responsible for the studio running smoothly and making sure it’s looking its best. No day is really the same and I’m always keeping several plates spinning but my core responsibilities are diary/calendar management, security and maintenance, health and safety, managing holiday and absences.
Talent management is the newer side of my role, which has grown thanks to all the amazing people we’ve met and hired. It’s a combination of recruitment, training and seeing how we can help the team achieve their goals.
What’s your story?
I studied contemporary art’s practice at uni, and when I graduated as an artist I was pretty confused. I always knew I was a creative and that I NEEDED to be part of a creative company, but the ‘making’ was overshadowed by my love of organising.
What are you working on right now?
We’ve had a few new starters join so I’m making sure their onboarding is smooth and they get to know the team.
“[Good design] just makes sense.”
Describe your working style in 3 words.

Tell us about some of your interests – what are you into?
I’m very into film, comedy and design. Mostly I just enjoy catching up with my friends and family, going for walks, dinners, pints and coffees!
Do you think design can change the world? How?
Design has always been changing the world. It’s made up of informed decisions that are educational and inspiring. It definitely helps keep us entertained and pushes us into new spaces – be it visually or mentally!
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Access to free healthcare everywhere.
What’s the last song you listened to?

Why do you do what you do? What motivates you?
The people here at DB are my motivation! And the cool stuff we make!
What’s your definition of good design?
It just makes sense.
